Fears for crops as shock figures from America show scale of bee catastrophe - The world may be on the brink of biological disaster after news that a third of US bee colonies did not survive the winter. In the UK alone, honeybee pollination is valued at £200m.
HoneybeeMankind has been managing and transporting bees for centuries to pollinate food and produce honey, nature's natural sweetener and antiseptic. Their extinction would mean not only a colourless, meatless diet of cereals and rice, and cottonless clothes, but a landscape without orchards, allotments and meadows of wildflowers – and the collapse
of the food chain that sustains wild birds and animals.
If the bees die out then we only have just 7 years
left to live!!

Pesticides sold by shops and used on Farms in the UK have now been linked to the dramatic deaths of bees. Please download and read this list of killer chemicals and the well known stores which are still selling them.

Help save our precious bees by not buying and using
the listed products.

Wanted - Llanelli Star News - The following e-mail has been received from the editor of the Llanelli Star and is self-explanatory:
(Dated 23rd June)

Dear correspondent

The Llanelli Star is eager to increase the news coverage in your area and in order to do this, we need your help.

If there are any events taking place in your area such as fetes and fun days, club events, fund-raisers etc then please try to let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and, if appropriate, we will try to arrange for a photographer to attend.

We will need the name and phone number of the person organising the event, time and date and where the event will be taking place. The intention is that the photograph would then be published in the community news section, or elsewhere in the paper, at a later date.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact Isabel Goodman on 01267 227224 (Mon-Weds) or 01554 745302 (Thurs-Fri).

Yours faithfully

Bede MacGowan
